Ukraine To Export Biogas To Germany

Ukraine to Export Biogas to Germany

Ukraine has signed an agreement to export biogas to Germany, the first such deal between the two countries.

The agreement was signed between Ukrainian gas company Naftogaz and German energy company E.ON. Under the terms of the deal, Naftogaz will supply E.ON with up to 2 billion cubic meters of biogas per year. The biogas will be produced from agricultural waste and other organic materials.

The deal is a significant step for Ukraine, which is looking to reduce its dependence on Russian gas. Ukraine currently imports about 40% of its gas from Russia. The biogas deal will help Ukraine to diversify its energy sources and reduce its reliance on Russian gas.

The deal is also a significant step for Germany, which is looking to increase its use of renewable energy. Germany has set a target of generating 65% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030. The biogas deal will help Germany to meet this target.

The deal is expected to create jobs and boost economic growth in both Ukraine and Germany. The biogas industry is expected to create about 10,000 jobs in Ukraine. The deal will also help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in both countries.

The deal is a positive step for Ukraine, Germany, and the environment. It will help to reduce Ukraine's dependence on Russian gas, increase Germany's use of renewable energy, and create jobs and boost economic growth in both countries.
